At Urban Health, Dr. Gonzalez helps each patient address their age-related concerns. Individual monitoring and medication management are unique to each individual, and Dr. Gonzalez will customize a treatment plan for your specific needs.
Your treatment plan will be tailored to meet your individual needs to slow down the aging process and help you look and feel better.
Your treatment plan addresses an array of age-related issues such as:
- Mood swings
- Loss of libido
- Testosterone deficiency
- Hormone imbalances
- Sleep problems
- Low energy levels
- Weight gain
- Reduced muscle mass
- Wrinkles, sagging, and dry skin
The Anti-Aging Program starts with an initial consultation where doctors will review your medical history and your family’s medical history. Blood and saliva analysis is taken to measure concentrations of hormone levels such as estrogen levels in your body.
Progesterone and testosterone are other vital levels that are checked. Along with the blood and saliva tests, a complete medical examination is ordered. There will be a consultation with the nutritionist for assessment, counseling, and recommendations on vitamins, supplements, amino acid, and antioxidant intake.
Replacement Therapy or HRT
Hormone levels decrease as we age because a tiny change in hormone levels can lead to many physical problems. When your hormones are in balance, your body can function at the desired level.
Aging causes hormone levels to decline. Replacement therapy can restore hormone levels to optimal concentrations. The advantages of replacement may be increased energy levels, stabilized blood pressure, memory improvement, improvement in skin tone, a leaner and healthier physique, and much more.
Menopause: With menopause comes the decline of hormones that can harm your daily life and overall wellbeing. Levels of estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone decrease. Menopause is associated with symptoms of accelerated aging, osteoporosis, heart disease, loss of skin elasticity, vaginal dryness, and depression.
Estrogen replacement therapy can delay or prevent these symptoms that are associated with menopause and the aging process. Progesterone is a hormone that keeps estrogen in balance and is an essential part of HRT for women.
Men can also experience changing hormone levels and lowered testosterone levels that may lead to mental and physical changes.
Testosterone: A hormone responsible for muscle mass, libido, and energy levels. Addressing the testosterone levels to proper levels can mean more energy, increased muscle mass, and better mental focus as well as improved libido. Both men and women need testosterone for optimal health.
Women who have low levels of non-detectable testosterone levels suffer from loss of libido, an increase in body fat, and osteoporosis. Loss of testosterone in men can lead to atherosclerosis, increased risk of heart disease, obesity, fatigue, depression, and anxiety.
Andropause is often referred to as male menopause. This is a state in which the hormonal balance of men is deficient, and they may suffer decreased libido, fatigue, muscle mass loss, and depression.
DHEA and Cortisol Therapy
DHEA is produced in the adrenal glands. It declines gradually as we age, usually starting around the age of 30.
DHEA has an important role in lowering cholesterol, healthy heart function, controlling weight gain, and preventing arthritis, diabetes, and senility. Hormonal imbalances affect the quality and health of men and women.
These imbalances can be treated and corrected, and as a result, the patient can enjoy a healthier life.
Pharmaceutical Grade Supplements
Vitamins and supplements provide the body with essential nutrients to let the body grow, heal, regenerate, and fight infections. At Urban Health, we supply only pharmaceutical-grade vitamins and supplements.
This imparts greater bioavailability and increased absorption. The Anti-Aging line is the antioxidant vitamins that give protection against free radical oxidation.
This protects cells and allows the body to grow new cells like collagen.
Thyroid levels decrease with age and may lead to metabolism and body temperature to lower. This may contribute to low energy and depression.
Weight gain is often a problem even when eating habits have not changed. This is because thyroid hormones regulate carbohydrate, protein, and fat metabolism.
Low thyroid affects muscle metabolism. If your thyroid is not working optimally, then you do not build muscle.
Thyroid hormones affect the smooth vascular muscles of the heart. Low thyroid affects the ability of these muscles to relax correctly, and blood pressure is often affected.
A hormone replacement therapy plan will counteract these symptoms.
Melatonin Imbalance Symptoms.
Melatonin regulates the body’s sleep. The most apparent symptoms of a melatonin imbalance are poor quality sleep and insomnia.
Other signs of low melatonin may be excessive daytime sleepiness, depression, stress, fatigue, anxiety, high blood pressure, and low libido.
Melatonin treatment may rectify the symptoms discussed above and restore sleep quality by treating the hormone imbalance. The physician will order a melatonin level test to check for an imbalance.
Age Spots and Liver Spots Treatment.
Age spots are also called liver spots. They are flat, tan, brown, or black spots of darker skin coloring that appear on the skin of the face, neck, shoulders, and arms.
There are many cosmetic and aesthetic treatments to lighten or eliminate their appearance.
Nutrition and Anti-Aging Programs
With your hormones being in proper balance, so metabolic balance is vital to your health, wellbeing, and performance. The body must get and absorb the correct nutrients to function properly and remain free of disease.
Patients can suffer from low levels of amino acids, vitamins, or minerals.
Research shows that the majority of people are deficient in vitamin D that plays a role in improving glucose metabolism, maintaining bone health, strengthening immunity, and preventing cancer. At Urban Health, Dr. Gonzalez and his team will design a customized supplementation plan. Adjustments in your diet and supplements can improve your health and vitality.
By optimizing health, improving nutrition, and making lifestyle adjustments, you can minimize the risk of diseases such as:
- High blood pressure
- Heart disease
